For centuries, man has been fascinated with flight. Seeing the world from a birds-eye view gives you a completely new perspective on how we live our lives on this big blue ball we call Earth. The 2015 Lake Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair celebrates the Havasu community with dozens of beautiful hot air balloons floating over (and sometimes touching upon) Lake Havasu itself.

The 2015 Lake Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair is a three day event that is jam packed full of good times. Gates open at 6am every day. A special Sunrise Flag ceremony starts the festivities off each day at 7:20am followed by a mass ascension at 7:45am. That’s right! You can watch as each team prepares their ride, lights up the burners, fills up their balloon and heads off into the big blue sky. You may even get the chance to watch them take a splash and dash on the lake (a brief touchdown on the water before heading back up).
Every day is filled with tons of entertainment on the ground as well. There will be belly dancers, a dog frisbee show, skydivers, bi-planes, a kite show, martial arts demonstrations, vintage car shows, live music and much, much more. Watch the RC plane, helicopter and car demonstrations in the RC Zone to the south of the balloon field. The Elks Lodge will host Bingo games from 10am to 2pm all three days. The little ones get to blow off steam in the Kids Zone. And, of course, there will be plenty of food and specialty vendors on-site to shop around.
Hot air balloons are not just for the day time. Every evening at 6:30pm, there will be a Night Glow. If you have never been to one, this is something that should not be missed. If you thought the balloons were pretty during the day, watching them light up the night skies in the darkness is truly breathtaking.
Want to fly in a hot air balloon? For just $20, you can take a tethered balloon ride. However, for the real adventurer, try an untethered ride for $200. Tickets will go on sale at 6am each morning in the ride sale tent.
Make sure you bring your camera and a sense of adventure when you hit the Nautical Beachfront Resort this weekend. The 2015 Lake Havasu Balloon Festival will be full of fun and plenty of photo-ops. This is something the entire family can enjoy together. Create memories now! Contact Marquita McKnight for more information.
