Hurricane Matthew scared the southeast coast of the US a couple of weeks ago. Snow already threatens to dump in the northwest. Meanwhile, we in Lake Havasu City sit back, relax and get to enjoy temps in the 90’s well into the Fall. No wonder so many people envy the Havasu lifestyle. Thousands of people leave bad weather behind when they come to the Havasu Relics and Rods Run to the Sun 2016 this weekend.

Havasu Relics and Rods Run to the Sun 2016
The festivities for this three day event kick off with Cruise Night tomorrow evening. Beginning at 5pm, participants in the Havasu Relics and Rods Run to the Sun 2016 park their vehicles all along Main Street (McCulloch Blvd). First, stop in at one of the restaurants along Main St for dinner. Then, take an after-dinner stroll along the boulevard to see these gorgeous pieces of machinery up close.
You won’t want to miss the Havasu Relics and Rods Run to the Sun 2016 Show and Shine. From 8am to 4pm on both Friday and Saturday, the Bridgewater Links Golf Course hosts more than 800 classic automobiles, including trucks. Their owners come from all over the country. Vendors will be set up around the show selling all kinds of auto-related merchandise. A little retail therapy never hurt anybody. You can get a one day pass for $8 or save a little money and get a two day pass for $12. You know you’re going to want to come back a second day.
Special Events at the Havasu Relics and Rods Run to the Sun 2016
Friday evening, the Rockin’ Relics perform classic hits at the Sock Hop. Beginning at 5pm, guests will be served a catered meal. Then, kick off your shoes and dance the calories away on the dance floor. All this takes place at the London Bridge Resort Convention Center. Tickets for the Sock Hop are $24 per person.
The Havasu Relics and Rods Run to the Sun 2016 is more than cars and music. How about a fashion show? They’ve got one. This year’s theme is “Disney”. You can watch the models strut their stuff down the catwalk for just $15.
Finally, bid adieu to these cars until next year. Wave goodbye as they caravan down McCulloch on Sunday at 9am. Not every car will be in the Sunday parade. You have to go inside the Run to the Sun event to see all of them. But you can get one last look at some of them on Sunday. Pick up your tickets today!
