Lake Havasu City offers more than 300 days of pure golden sunshine throughout the year. Now that Old Man Winter has gone into hibernation and temperatures are warming up, nighttime is the right time for a bit of fun, frolicking and strolling down Memory Lane with some hot cars in Havasu. Every Thursday evening from 4pm to 8pm, the “main drag” (McCulloch Blvd., from Smoketree to Acoma) takes a blast from the past with Cruisin’ on Main, Lake Havasu’s version of American Graffitti.
Auto enthusiasts from all walks of life bring their hot rods, classic cars, trucks and even some motorcycles to Havasu’s “Main Street” to show off their cool rides. But you don’t have to own a classic automobile to participate. Everyone is welcome to walk around, take in the views and talk to the owners of each vehicle…maybe even reminisce about the “good ol’ days” as well. Most of the stores on Havasu’s “Main Street” stay open late while many area restaurants offer Cruisin’ specials. So add some shopping and dining out to your Thursday evening’s entertainment. Throw in classic oldies live and on the PA system and you’re in for a neat treat.
McCulloch Blvd. is definitely a hoppin’ place every Thursday evening from 4pm to 8pm. Parking is first come/first served. Get there early and be prepared to walk around. You’re not going to want to miss any of the hot cars in Havasu when you go Cruisin’ on Main. Yet another reason to love the Lake Havasu lifestyle. This is definitely one happenin’ scene, Daddy-O!
