Last year’s fundraiser was such a success, that Hospice of Havasu has decided to do it again. The 2nd Annual Lake Havasu Ride 4 Life will take place this Saturday, November 3, 2012. Beginning at 8am, motorcycle enthusiasts will be gathering at Hospice of Havasu, located at 232 London Bridge Rd, for a pancake breakfast before they take off for stops in Parker, Havasu Landing, Fort Mojave and then back to Lake Havasu on their poker run.
Hospice of Havasu began in 1982 to help citizens of the Lake Havasu community pass their final days in a dignified way as well as helping families of terminally ill people deal with their grief. Some of the services provided include an RN case manager who comes to the patient’s home regularly, access to Certified Nursing Assistants for home health care, social workers for both the patient and their family, chaplains for spiritual help and a group of volunteers who are trained to provide relief for everything from household chores to picking up necessary medications. Hospice of Havasu’s Bereavement Staff work with patients and their families to deal with their emotions during and after their loss. Since they are fully accredited by Medicare, qualified patients can receive Medicare benefits that include paying for medical supplies, equipment, medication, Certified Nursing Assistants and more.
Tickets are just $30 in advance or $35 on the day of the event. If you’re interested in participating in the Lake Havasu Ride 4 Life, contact call Mary Lomberto, the Special Events and Donations Coordinator for Hospice of Havasu, at (928) 453-2111 or email her at [email protected]. Please join in on this fun run that serves as both a memorial for the loved ones we have lost as well as a fundraiser for a wonderful local organization.
