When you put your Lake Havasu home on the market, you want it to sell as quickly as possible for as much money as possible. That means making it look as good as possible when a potential buyer comes a-callin’. You performed all necessary repairs. Clutter has been banished. You made sure to scour every last nook and cranny until everything glistened. But, let’s face it. Most of us still have to live in our homes until we sell them. The wear and tear of daily life means that your property may not look model perfect all the time. So, here are a few last-minute home staging tips to help you get your house ready to show.
Last-Minute Home Staging Tips for Your Havasu Home
Toilets
It may sound silly to you, but go around to each bathroom in your Havasu house and put the toilet seats down. And while you’re in there, stash the plunger and toilet bowl brush out of sight. We all know what goes on in the bathroom. We don’t need to be reminded of it when we walk in.
Kitchen Counters
Clear ’em off! Store all small appliances in the cupboard or pantry. That includes toasters, coffee makers, tea kettles, etc. You want to showcase how much counter space there is. That can be difficult if it’s filled up with “stuff”. Add a pretty bowl of fruit for some color.
Thermostat
We all know how hot it is outside right now. So, when you get the call that a buyer is on their way, turn the thermostat down. That way, the buyer remembers your house as a welcoming place…not an oven.
Personal Items
If you didn’t do so when you initially set about staging your home, get rid of all your personal items. It’s hard for buyers to see your home as their home if it’s filled with your doll collection, family portraits through the years, and children’s artwork covering the fridge.
Trash and Litter Boxes
Empty these every single day. Even if there isn’t much in there, all trash cans should be emptied of their contents before a buyer views your property. Spray down the inside with a deodorizer and then add a fresh liner to each one. Kitty litter boxes should also be emptied and either stored out of sight (ideal) or filled with fresh litter.
All of these staging tips can be performed in a matter of minutes. That helps when you get that last-minute call from your agent that someone wants to see your house right away. When you’re ready to put your Havasu home on the market, contact me.
