Lake Havasu City Go Skateboarding Day 2016
Tinnell Memorial Skate Park opened up to the public back in 2013. It was named after local hero Patrick Tinnell, who gave his life serving overseas in 2006. He was an avid BMX rider. The park is also dedicated to Colin Sasseen who lost his life at 14 years old when he was struck by a car while skateboarding. The Lake Havasu City Go Skateboarding Day 2016 is something that both gentlemen would have surely been overjoyed to see happen.
Skateboards, bikes and scooters are all invited to join the Lake Havasu City Go Skateboarding Day 2016 festivities. Registration begins at 4pm in the parking lot next to Edgardo’s Jewelers (2121 McCulloch Blvd). At 6pm, a police escort will take all participants from the starting point at Wheeler Park, down McCulloch Blvd, along Smoketree Ave and on to Tinnell Skate Park. A DJ will provide the background music while kids have the chance to traverse the course at the park under the lights until 11pm.
Safety is always first, especially at the Lake Havasu City Go Skateboarding Day 2016. Helmets and safety gear are highly recommended. Anyone under 18 years old must have their parent or guardian sign a waiver to allow them to participate. All kids ages eight and under must have their parent or guardian ride with them.
Don’t let your kid waste away inside your Lake Havasu home this summer. Our Havasu community is known for the many great outdoor adventures available. Lake Havasu City Go Skateboarding Day 2016 is just one of many. Locals, pros and grommets are all welcome.
