Memorial weekend marks the start of summer for most people around the country. With more than 300 days of sunny weather a year, summer fun ends up being an almost year-round event in Lake Havasu City. The lake draws thousands of tourists each year. But the Lake Havasu lifestyle extends outside our city limits as well. For example, enjoy a lazy day on the Colorado River when you join the Parker Tube Float 2018.

Parker Tube Float 2018

Grab your friends and head over to Parker on Saturday, June 9th for the great Parker Tube Float 2018. You cannot park at Buckskin Mountain State Park on the day of the event. You must park at La Paz County Park (the end point of the float). Bring $10 cash (no credit or debit cards accepted) to pay the parking fee. Then, hop aboard the complimentary shuttle that takes you over to Buckskin Mountain State Park (the start point of the float). In order to board the shuttle, you must wear the wristband provided to you in your welcome package.
A fun After-Float Party takes place at Pirate’s Den Resort when you’re done. The Black Pearl Restaurant and Thirsty Pirate Beach Bar provide food and beverages for purchase. And, yes, they accept credit or debit cards there. You’ll be able to check your floats and anything else you bring with you at the Pirate’s Den during the after-party.
Parker Tube Float 2018 Rules
Participants must be at least 13 years old. Everyone must wear a size-appropriate life jacket. Floats and life jackets will not be provided by event coordinators. Therefore, bring one with you or risk being turned away. Since everyone must use the shuttle to get to the start point of the Parker Tube Float 2018, do not inflate your floats ahead of time. Inflation stations will be set up at Buckskin Mountain State Park. You’re allowed to tie tubes together. However, keep it limited to 10 tubes or less. Participants will be given a trash bag to dispose of their personal trash in. Keep it with you for easy disposal while floating along the river. Anyone caught littering will be subject to a hefty fine.
You’re welcome to bring non-alcoholic beverages to sip while you float. No glass, styrofoam cups or kegs allowed. Plywood, barrels and homemade floats are also not allowed. Neither are water balloons. If you need a little help steering, feel free to bring oars or paddles with you as well. To register, simply visit the Parker Chamber of Commerce’s website here. Have fun and float on!
